Michael Etessami, DDS, JD, FAAPD
Dr. Etessami is a 1982 graduate of Baltimore, Maryland (BS in Biology). He received his dental degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1986. Later, he completed the post graduate pediatric dental program at the University of Maryland and had a fellowship at the John Hopkins School of Medicine, Kennedy Institute and received his certificate in pediatric dentistry. He later successfully completed and satisfied the requirements for board certification through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and was certified as a Diplomate of the Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He has also received the certificate of completion from Ricketts' School of Bioprogressive Orthodontics. Dr. Etessami also holds a Juris Doctor (JD) Degree and has completed graduate work at the Harvard Business School.
He provides comprehensive dental care for children, adolescents and children with special needs in his private practices. However, he also provides full mouth reconstruction under general anesthesia for children who are either too young and or need special medical attention that cannot be addressed under normal office settings.
Dr. Etessami is an active staff member at the Howard County General Hospital, a Johns Hopkins Affiliate. He was an associate professor at the University of Maryland Dental School and has been in private practice since 1988. He is a fellow of the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Member American Academy of Pediatrics, Member American Dental Association, Associate Member American Bar Association. Dr. Etessami is married, has two children and lives in Potomac Maryland.
Wayne Hickory, DMD, MDS
Dr. Hickory is a graduate of Trinity College (BS), Connecticut. He earned a Masters Degree (MS) in nutritional science at Boston University, School of Graduate Dentistry. Dr. Hickory studied at the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine for seven years receiving his dental degree (DMD), Master of Dental Science (MDS) and a three year postdoctoral certificate program in Orthodontics at the Vrijie University, Amsterdam and the University of Maryland. Dr. Hickory has twenty years practice experience in orthodontics and also gives orthodontic courses internationally.
Ronald M. Starr, DDS, FAAPD
Dr. Starr has been practicing pediatric dentistry for forty years in Bethesda. After completing dental training at the University of Maryland Dental School, he completed his specialty (certification) program at the University of Illinois. Throughout his years in practice Dr. Starr has taken numerous other graduate courses on orthodontics with special interest in occlusion and growth development. Dr. Starr has been continually named one of the most outstanding practitioners in the Metropolitan area by the Washingtonina Magazine survey.
During his forty years of practice, Dr. Starr has thought various clinical skills to his fellow practitioners, and has also held and associate professorship at the University of Maryland Dental School. At the Howard University Dental School, Dr. Starr was an associate professor and head of the Pediatrics Dental department.
He is a member of the American Dental Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
